As part of our 2025 year-end review, we asked our Talent Acquisition Team to reflect on the past twelve months and answer one simple question: 

“What was the highlight of your year – and why?”

Elke Kormann-Tix, (Senior Talent Acquisition Manager) BGH-Consulting:

"One of the most significant projects for me this year was the successful search for a Managing Director for a specialty paper manufacturer in the Ore Mountains region of Germany – a project I had the pleasure of leading together with my colleague Katharina Hupp. The close collaboration, strategic candidate approach, and strong regional connection made this assignment a true highlight.
The Zellcheming Expo in Wiesbaden and FACHPACK in Nuremberg were also among the defining moments of the year. Both trade fairs provided valuable industry insights, inspiring conversations, and a clear view of the ongoing transformation within the paper, packaging, and process industries. Looking back, it was a year full of change, momentum, and new perspectives – exactly what makes my job so exciting."

"This year, team spirit was at the heart of everything we did at BGH. Whether working together on client projects to achieve the best possible outcomes, attending industry events such as Zellcheming in Wiesbaden, drinktec in Munich, and FACHPACK in Nuremberg, or participating in a company excursion to one of our clients, where we gained valuable insights and engaged in meaningful conversations, collaboration was a constant source of motivation. Our traditional Weißwurst meetings and this year's visit to Munich's Oktoberfest were also great opportunities to strengthen team connections. One of the most exciting aspects of the year was the wide variety of positions we were able to fill. From product development in molded fiber solutions to roles across paper manufacturing, converting, and nonwovens – from machine operators and plant managers to managing directors. This diversity, along with the many unique personalities we meet every day, is what makes our work so rewarding."

"In my role as a Talent Acquisition Manager, I have seen recruiting evolve rapidly throughout 2025. Competition for talent is more intense than ever, and candidates increasingly expect flexibility, purpose, and a strong employer brand.
Despite challenging market conditions, we successfully filled numerous key positions. This was only possible through teamwork, trust, and an authentic, targeted approach to engaging our candidates.
Above all, this year has reinforced that genuine human connection remains the key to success, even in times of change."

Ramona Reitmayr, (Talent Acquisition Manager) BGH-Consulting:

"In 2025, I once again had the opportunity to work with fascinating clients and candidates, primarily supporting recruitment projects in quality management and project management.
My personal highlight was attending a briefing session on-site at a client's facility in Rhineland-Palatinate together with my colleague Sven Braun, which unexpectedly included a guided Mill tour. While virtual meetings have become a convenient part of our daily work, face-to-face interactions still provide a much deeper understanding of a company's culture and requirements, making it easier to identify the perfect match."

Christina Flor-Knoth, (Talent Acquisition Manager) BGH-Consulting:

"My project of the year was the successful placement of an HR Director Europe for a global market leader in paper machine clothing. From project launch in mid-August to contract signing at the end of September, only a few weeks passed – a pace that was only possible thanks to the outstanding collaboration with our client. What impressed me most was how committed all decision-makers were throughout the process. Even stakeholders from the United States joined discussions to provide the candidate with meaningful insights and ensure a smooth and efficient decision-making process.
This assignment was particularly rewarding because HR recruitment has not traditionally been my primary focus area. The many conversations with HR leaders gave me valuable insights into modern people management and leadership at a European level."
